Faith and self-mutilation

Many devotees in religious festivals or in some other events around the world use to
demonstrate their faith by self-mutilation. It can be seen for example during the
Phuket Vegetarian festival, the Thaipusam in Penang or Kuala Lumpur or also during the
Nallur festival in Jaffna in Sri Lanka.
