The Czeck artist Frantisek Kupka is honoured by the
naming of this bridge in the futuristic La Defense
business district outside Paris, near to the area where
he lived and worked. His own futuristic style and
abstract theories are strangely reflected in this
fascinating structure, which I have tried to capture in its
different moods, particularly at night. The night is a
deserted time when the office workers have long gone
and the bridge is a lonely and disturbing place as it arcs
across great gaps in two opposing structures. A
brooding monument by day and by night.
Passionate about art, I revelled in Rembrandt, Velazquez, Japanese print masters and the Impressionists. They still inspire me today. The digital age gave me a dramatic increase in control and responsiveness, freedom and inspiration.
I love composition and am excited by urban and natural landscapes, the graphic potential of architecture, the night and event photography, particularly Jazz. My Photeinos brand, is a tribute to Greece and the inspiration-giving power of light inherent in the word.
I have exhibited regularly in Paris and America and on my Fine Art website www.photeinos.com.
