Cyclades Dawn

In the open air, mid-section of a hydrofoil I was
deafened by the motor and rattled by the speed of our
pre-dawn journey from Porto Heli to Piraeus. The
lightening sky marked our progress and the horizon
glowed in the east until the sky and sea were ablaze.

I struggled to capture the moment, praying that careful
timing and vibration reduction would allow me to grasp
the stunning beauty of the moment, with reasonable
ISO in low and delicate light. My spirit was astounded
and in awe, forgetting the pounding noise and jarring
motion. A gifted experience.

Passionate about art, I revelled in Rembrandt, Velazquez, Japanese print masters and the Impressionists. They still inspire me today. The digital age gave me a dramatic increase in control and responsiveness, freedom and inspiration.

I love composition and am excited by urban and natural landscapes, the graphic potential of architecture, the night and event photography, particularly Jazz. My Photeinos brand, is a tribute to Greece and the inspiration-giving power of light inherent in the word.

I have exhibited regularly in Paris and America and on my Fine Art website www.photeinos.com.
