These are photos taken with natural light in an urban
environment, without the help of any spotlight, and revisited in
postproduction to make the visual impact more dramatic.
These portraits are part of a photographic research on subjects
dressed in medieval clothing, taken during numerous city events
throughout the year in several boroughs of the province of
Umbria (Italy).
Roberto Campanaro has started to experiment the digital imaging in the 1990s, facing and improving a style that synthesizes his interest in the photogrphy, in the assemblage of the images and also his interest in the painting. His passion about art started at young age when it had the first influences by his grandfather, Duilio Donzelli, who was a painter, sculptor and Art professor.
He learned the first basic notions of analogical photography by working for a brief time as a assistant photographer for Enzo Ghiringhelli with Moonlight Studio in Milan when he was very young.
