The bathers at Ain el Mreisseh are a common sight on Beirut's
warmer days. The coast of Beirut is practically stripped off natural
coastal areas, yet fishermen, families and youths climb over fences
and clamber unto rocks and wave breakers to escape the heat and
reclaim a space that has been lost to construction and the
privatization of the coast.
