This image is titled "Hope" it is part of my Care
Givers Series. The model in this image represents the patient or
the person who is hurting and/or going though troubles. The fact
that she is ill yet she finds beauty in the world (symbolized by the
flower in her hand). HOPE. I also have 11 other emotions that I
shot along with this image. Compassion, Comfort, surrender,
Torn, pleading, numb, The fixer and Grief are just a few of the
other emotions that I shot.
The spikes on her back were made out of clay. I fired them in my
kitchen oven. The spikes are placed on her back in an S shape to
symbolize my pain as a child. I have scoliosis and had a many
surgeries. This shoot is personal to me and dedicated to all of the
care givers that I have had through out my lifetime.
Otto (the makeup artist) did an amazing job... it turned out exactly
how I pictured it. Twig Noir (The model for this shot) was
awesome. I know I can always count on her to bring her A game
and show emotion while she models for me. Leah did the makeup
in this and was also the other model
in this series. The other model is wearing the spikes on her
shoulders to symbolize the weight that she carries.
I'm a photographer living in De Pere, Wisconsin USA. I believe in creating images that capture emotion. I love spending time with my husband and son. I also enjoy painting, drawing, pottery and a strong cup of black coffee. However, my true passion in life is photography. My interest was sparked at a very young age. My fathers 35mm camera was my eye to a new world of seeing things. I remember being with my dad in the dark room with one red bulb glowing, watching the prints come to life. I was hooked. I purchased my very own camera around my 10th birthday. Then I went on to be my high school yearbook photographer. I have always been the girl with the camera. Today, I am blessed to be able to do what I love. I own Studio Rouge on Main (a boutique photography studio). I clients for a living. I shoot artistic concepts and landscapes for my soul. I love to tell stories through pictures. I enjoy creating other worlds through use of sets and styling.
