Traces of Life – The Metaphysics of the Face

With the beginning of adolescence, traces of life and life
experiences begin to leave marks on the soul and face of each
human being. As individuals get older, each face receives an
increasing expressiveness. Life experience is legible.

To cover, blur or wipe out the traces of your own life are as
opportune as the experiment to reproduce an intervention in the
youthful surface of the face. Superficial smoothness is an ideal.

These large size photographs show the deep traces of life. Hard,
tough, without dressed up colours. In between this structure
there is the lively and vigilant look, which is focused and
captures the viewer.

He is a photographer, visual artist and media consultant whose work aims to capture the complexity of his subject by revealing an image of purity and simplicity to its viewer.

„Photography is an encounter, a reproduction of the reality in a split second. It inspires and creates imagination, and may broaden horizons.“

Tobias Gambaro lives and works in Switzerland and Greece.
