Photo taken with a roll of Black & White film.
As the color of white signifies purity, innocence and peace, I would
like to seize this opportunity to pay tribute to Mr. 楊逵(Yang Kui) and
his family. As a great Taiwanese writer who was imprisoned for 12
years during his whole life, Yang Kui never bowed down to the
authority and his peaceful spirit never wavered.

This picture is not only named after one of Yang Kui's masterpieces,
壓不扁的玫瑰花 (The Indomitable Rose), in which he describes the
indomitable spirit of the Taiwanese people during the Japanese
colonial period between 1895 and 1945, but also after the book《壓不
扁的玫瑰:一位母親的318運動事件簿》(The Indomitable Rose- A
Mother’s Note Of The 318 Movement) (ISBN:9789869090414)
written by his granddaughter, Professor 楊翠(Yang Tsui) during the
Sunflower Student Movement in 2014.
