Suspended is an on-going portrait series that grew out of my
passion for photographing adolescents, over many years. I will
often spend time observing both behavior and body language
before deciding to photograph. There is an interesting push and
pull between what is withheld and revealed. Disparate forces are at
play during these years happening both from within and outside of
themselves. I am interested in showing how these elements -
awkwardness, sensuality, vulnerability - are transparent and will
often surface simultaneously. Interestingly, the power inherent
during this volatile time of life is often only seen by the beholder.
