Chemo Day #10

The woman in this photograph had been diagnosed with breast
cancer about ten months before. On a day when she was preparing
to have her tenth session of chemotherapy, she allowed me to take
a number of photographs of her. This one most fully captured
what I saw in her - fear, strength and hope all wrapped together
as she faced the prospect not only of another session but also of
an uncertain fate.
