The Forward Operating Base COLUMBUS of Bala Morghab,
Afghanistan represents a microcosm where US, Italian and Afghan
troops live together. This story is about transition and to when the
Government of Afghanistan will be able to provide security in a
Country where little internal tribal issues might become
international matters. The Forward Operating Base COLUMBUS is
not a barbed wire fence but it is the “living soul” of those who
work to hand Afghanistan back to the Afghans.
