Niger's Nomads

  • Photographer
    Louise Porter, United States

Infrared Photography is in it's early stages and takes many
forms. These photographs are the pure Infrared technique
without and changing color channels. In the hot bright sun of
Niger digital color is washed out. These IR photographs depict
the landscape and the Nomads with the sense of mystery and
awe they portray. These photographs were taken during the
Wodaabe festival in 2014. I spent several weeks in Niger and
discovered the location of the festival after a week of searching.
Camping with them and the Tuareg I witnessed the importance
of Tradition. "Tradition is happiness. It is what the Heart wants,
and to want happiness is life"
