“Vogue, or voguing, is a highly stylized, modern house dance that
evolved out of the Harlem ballroom scene in the 1980s. The Ball
Culture and community describe an underground LGBT subculture
in USA which has recently come to grow all over Europe where
people ‘Walk’ in categories such as Vogue Fem, Drag Realness,
Runway, Pretty Boy Realness or Waacking for trophies at the
events called Balls. Most participants in Ball culture belong to
groups known as ‘Houses’ family-like collectives of LGBT dancers
and performers.
