Remembering Tōhoku

Friday 11 March 2011, people in the region of Tōhoku runs their
daily life as usual. None of them got any idea what will happen in
the evening that will change their life forever. At about 2.46pm
the same day an earthquake with a 9.0 magnitude hits Japan. This
is the most powerful earthquake ever recorded that hit Japan. The
earthquake triggered a powerful tsunami waves that hits Tōhoku
coastal cities.

Remembering Tōhoku is a documentary project in Autumn 2014
with intention to
show the after effects, post event scenes and redevelopment
progress in Tōhoku coastal cities of Kamaishi, Rikuzentakata and
Yuriage.

Azri Zainul is a photographer with a strong passion in documentary and street photography.
Born and live in Penang Island, Malaysia. He started his photographic journey in 2006 as a hobby and getting serious about it ever since. Besides photography, he also loved to travel and gets busy with adventures.

Azri Zainul works has been published in various local magazines and newspaper.
