In the peripheries of São Paulo, Brazil, the interest in combat sports is
growing.
Many young people do not study and do not work to dedicate himself to
training. They hope to earning a living fighting and participating in
competitions many times unlicensed and illegal.

Christian Piana , born in 1978, is Italian photographer, currently living in São Paulo of Brazil.
He studied photography at the European Institute of Design in Rome in 2002,
It specialized in documentary photography and editorial portraiture, in 2003 he published the book "Il tempo del silenzio" (edizioniinterculturali, Rome 2003) on the psychotherapeutic community in Italy.
He has collaborated with humanitarian organizations in Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mozambique and Brazil.
