Malaysian Chinese religion are heavily influenced by the faiths practiced
by Chinese communities: Buddhism and Taoism.The man in the picture
celebrate "The Nine Emperor Gods Festival".It is a nine-day Taoist
celebration beginning on the eve of 9th lunar month of the Chinese
calendar.He is preparing a fire walking ritual which symbolizes “sending
off the bad luck and ushering in the good luck”.

I am a self taught Malaysian photographer . I started photography around 20 when I sutdy math in university. I quickly become obseesed with how light and shadow can construct visual space and conjure up certain atmosphere.
