Close to the Bulgarian, Turkish and Greek borders every summer the local people of the
Rhodope mountains organize a big festival.
This festival has cultural and political issues because it is a muslim festival which in
the last decades is sponsored from the Turkey.

In this fest a visitor has to drive up to the mountains for an hour in order to see the
wrestling games with the pehlivans.

Almost all the visitors are local greek citizens with muslim religion which came from the
ottoman period.

The children have nice time playing and having fun with the wrestling games and the
cultural events -folk dance and music concerts.
