  • Photographer
    Chak Lui CHAN, Hong Kong

The work is my reflection of a Chinese idiom (Buddhist proverb),
"Flowers in a mirror and moon on the water are both illusory (鏡花
水月總成空)."

It is a study of real vs. unreal, and, a study of time in the end.

Born and grew up in Hong Kong, Max Chan owns a multidisciplinary background and holds a Diploma in Advertising Design, a Bachelor's Degree in Cinema & Television, and a MA in Cultural Management.

Chan has extensive working experience in the creative and cultural industry. Started his career as TV assistant producer and creative writer, he is now working as arts manager of organizing and promoting cultural programmes. With years of board experience across different spheres, Chan was invited to be the Art Gallery Committee & Juror Member for SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 & 2013. It is Asia's largest annual event in computer arts and interactive techniques.

He is also an award-winning artist who received prizes in the Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3), International Photography Awards (IPA), Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA), London International Creative Competition (LICC) and Arte Laguna Prize in Venice, just to name a few.
