Running to the Edge

  • Photographer
    Julia Borissova, Russian Federation

In this work I refer to the subject of the first wave of Russian emigration in 1920’s. I reflect on how with the lapse of time are erased some details from our memory and how we recall something from the past, we construct another image replacing some parts by new ones. I’m trying to do the same with the pictures.
I concerned how history and memory are perceived through images. I explore a way of creating content of the photos through their physical presence as objects and connecting them with natural elements, thus highlighting the presence of temporality. The concept of this work is the idea of fragility and disappearance.
