Tulou Houses

The tulou houses of Yongding County, China. Many of the tulou houses are centuries old, and entire communities used to live in them. Most families are now opting to move to apartment buildings and have abandoned this traditional way of life in search of better opportunities.

Liz started taking photos when she learned how to use a black and white darkroom in 9th grade. Since then she has taken photos of the streets of Brooklyn and the farms of South America; the borders of Asian countries and the housing developments of Texas; the fashion students of Hong Kong and the working class of the world. She is interested in telling the stories of the relatively unknown and strives to be a storyteller in all her endeavors.
