The spark of Tunisia was transferred,as it was expected,to the rest of the Arabic world.On January 25, 2011, massive protests took place across Egypt, with the cities of Cairo and Alexandria as the main cores of activity,demanding the overthrow of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Cairo's main Tahrir Square became during the days, the meeting point and ''fortress' for anti-Mubarak protesters, seeking for a revolutionary change, the end of a 30-year corrupted and repressing reigning.Major clashes took place around Tahrir Square between anti-Mubarak and pro-mubarak protesters, with dozens of casualties and hundreds of wounded.It seemed that the battle for this square would define Egypt's future.The determination of the Egyptian people led Hosni Mubarak to resignation on February 11, 2011.
