This series shows the struggle children with polio face in the poverty stricken Democratic Republic of Congo and how one organization, Stand Proud, is helping polio victims walk by providing them with surgery, leg braces, and a safe place to live where they can just be kids.

Born in Boston in 1979 and educated at Dartmouth College, Molly Feltner has worked as a travel writer for seven years for publications including National Geographic Traveler, SmarterTravel.com, Fodor's, and USAToday.com. In 2009 she left a staff position in Boston to spend time traveling in Africa and volunteering for NGOs which need help documenting their projects through writing and photography. Molly spends most of her time in Musanze, Rwanda, working with conservation- and humanitarian-based organizations in Musanze and in the nearby city of Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo.
