it is a representation of drying rivers and streams from around and inside the metropolitan area of the city of monterrey in northeastern mexico.

alejandro cartagena (b. 1977) is a photographer living and working in monterrey city, mexico.

his projects are primarily documentary based, in which he examines social and environmental issues of new mexican suburbia.

his work has been exhibited internationally and is in several public and private collections in mexico.

he is recipient of several major national and state young creators grants, numerous honorable mentions and acquisition prizes.

alejandro was born and raised in dominican republic and has lived in monterrey since 1990.

he has a bachelor degree in leisure management and is self-taught in photography.

he is currently in charge of all digital processes of the nuevo leon?s state photography center.
