?Mozambique: a decade of peace between poverty and dream?

Mozambique is a test-bed for the hard way to democracy in Africa. Economic development, struggle to corruption, pluralism and reduction of AIDS epidemy are the challenges inherited by the new president Armando Guebuza, elected in december 2004, after eighteen years of Joaquin Chissano government.

Massimo Mastrorillo was born in Turin, Italy and lives in Rome.
He discovered his passion for photography while he was studying Veterinary Medicine at the university. He graduated in photography at the European Institute of Design in Rome.
He has been working essentially with geographical and social reportage cooperating with various magazines in Italy and Europe. He worked on long term projects about the Kurdish Diaspora and the poverty in Mozambique. From the year 2005 to the year 2007 he has been working on his project The Lives of the Cities. He won the World Press Photo, the Pictures of the Year International, the Best of Photojournalism, the Fuji Euro Press Award, the Humanity Photo Award, the AOP Photography Award Document, the PDN?s Photo Annual Contest In Photojournalism, the International Photography Awards, the FNAC Prize Attenzione Talento Fotografico 2007, the International Photographer of the Year at the 5th Annual Lucie Awards and La Nazione Prize at the Lucca Digital Photofestival.

From the year 2006, Massimo Mastrorillo is represented by the agency Grazia Neri.
