Estimated 400,000 refugees and 1.1 million internally displaced people forced from their homes in DRC Congo as a result of armed conflict, systematic killings and human rights atrocities over more than a decade. A decrease in violence has allowed hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals to return home, but in several locations the security situation remains extremely volatile.
