It's early morning in Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, and, eluding my escort, I head in an old van to an incredible place, of fundamental importance to Pashtun culture.
It's a family-run business that produces pistols and Kalashnikovs, replicas of the most common foreign weapons, and therefore sold at affordable prices.
The tradition of artisanal, often clandestine, weapons production flourishes primarily in the Pashtun areas and near the northwestern border with Afghanistan, offering an important testimony to the culture and reality of a people in many ways similar to the Taliban.
