Les Faux Lions de Ngor

Witness the Simb, a Senegalese tradition which is also called "Les Faux Lions". The performance, which is organised to raise money for a cause, combines entertainment, folklore, music and dance. Men dressed as lions charge into the streets where they catch kids to drag them into an arena surrounded by cloth and poles. Spectators must buy tickets to watch the performance. Those caught without tickets endure playful taps and are pushed into a bucket of water. Driven by rhythmic drumbeats, the lions unleash acrobatic dance moves, engaging the crowd and blurring the line between fun and fright.
