Nenet people are semi-nomadic reindeer herders who move across the Yamal peninsula following the ancient Arctic migration routes.In their history they endured several challenges,but they always managed to preserve their cultural and nomadic traditions.They heavily depend on their herds,using reindeer for food,clothing,tools and transportation.Nenets’ home is the chum, a conical mobile tent.Today the Nenets are facing the climate change and the resource extraction: the permafrost is melting and and the Arctic is changing fast,affecting the survival of the reindeer and the future of this people.
