Spectral Memories

Spectral Memories is the first part of a tryptic series that questions the role of the home in the post-modern era. It is a memorial to the Floreal trailer park, in Boortmeerbeek, Belgium, closed by
judicial decision, who has remained empty of inhabitants ever since.

The park is currently being destroyed and
turned into a tailor-made social housing (hybrid concept between social housing and trailer park). Spectral Memories is exploring transition of the last possible alternative housing in Belgium, and in extension, of Western Europe.

Pietro Barbarossa is born from the meeting of Peter Emmanuilov & Antoine Beaufils. Having received documentary education Antoine turned his photography into intimacy practice with a Plastic Photography interest. Peter has a cinema, music video & documentary background, translated by strong narrative & visuals. Spectral Memories is their first collaboration, as the first part of a tryptic series questioning the housing in the post modern era.
