In the series "Abstract Figuration and Mindfulness", I deal with meditation and mindfulness. The lockdown meant, that we were all more confronted with ourselves and I worked artistically much more and more intensively than ever before. In this series I try to get away from the abundance of surrealistic imagery to a reduction in essential visual content, which I associate with a meditative state. For me, doing my artistic work is a kind of meditation. Meditation has the potential to expand and refine human consciousness, which I think is extraordinary important in our difficult times.
