On October 14, 2019, nine leaders of the Catalan separatist movement were jailed for sedition and misuse of public funds for their role in a failed 2017 declaration of independence. Catalonia's drive for independence plunged Spain into a big political crisis. People, driven by "youths" took the streets in Barcelona seeking to free all political prisoners and met with thousands of riot police sent from Madrid. In confrontations that occurred till December 2019, there were produced multiple arrests and hundreds of injured challenging the State in a warlike contest
Making work in daily news and long term projects about identity and human rights. Member of Colegi de periodistes de Cataluña and contributor photographer for Polaris Images and la Periférica magazine, has published on Abc news, L'Espresso, El Pais, La Vanguardia, Europa press, el Faro de Vigo, Expansión, El Periodico, La Razon among others. Graduated in law (Bocconi, Milano) after specializing in new journalism (Lacoonte) studied photojournalism and documentary photography (IEFC, Barcelona).
Awards Benedetto's images have been exhibited, with solo and group exhibitions, in galleries worldwide. In 2020 was selected to the final stage of the Siena International Photo Awards competition, 2018 participate in Lumix n 6 (Hannover), 2019/2018 Strip art (Barcelona), among others.
