My series Mutualism explores a relationship between science and art.
Using an optical microscope, I tightly photograph organic specimens. By
digitally manipulating and enhancing my subjects’ space and color, I
merge actuality and abstraction, uncovering a world of fascinating form.
Scale and chroma are no longer the intrinsic property of the natural world
but a reflection of artistic subjectivity.
