Entry Description

Documenting the vanishing tradition of facial tattooing among Chin tribes in Myanmar. This practice is centuries old, and began as branding to prevent other tribes from kidnapping another's women and girls. In more recent times it has been considered a form of adornment. Most of these women are now in their 70's and 80's.
