Self-portrait where the protagonist appears several times, everywhere, and is both actor and spectator of himself.With this work I try to analyze some aspects of modernity starting from myself. The uniqueness and the unrepeatability that once characterized the work of art (Benjamin 1936) have now been further supplanted by the advent of digital reproductions; and this aspect concerns not only art, but also human beings themselves. Nowadays, thanks to the development of the means of transport, we could be in several places almost simultaneously: space is delimited and time is accelerated. But (Augé 1992), at the same time, in a world that media make more and more technologically connected, there is a paradoxical increase in loneliness. I start from here.

Marco Circhirillo è nato nel 1980 a Parma, dove vive e lavora. Ha conseguito la Laurea Magistrale in Storia dell’Arte Contemporanea. La passione per la storia dell’arte lo spinge a dialogare costantemente con i grandi maestri, spaziando dall’analogico al digitale. Le varie serie che ne derivano, ciascuna con le proprie peculiarità formali ed espressive, sono spesso accomunate dall’indagine sul tema del doppio alchemico. Nel 2014 è stata pubblicata da Rubbettino la monografia, a cura di Giorgio Bonomi, Marco Circhirillo. Doppelgänger 2005-2013, mentre nel 2016 è stata pubblicata da Tip.le.co la monografia Marco Circhirillo. Psicotropie, con testi critici di Stefano Ferrari e Cristina Casero.
