The bridge leads the eye into the heart of this image and the famous monument of Castel Sant' Angelo in Rome. Light plays such an important role in the composition with the creation of a series of circular patches in the water that seem to echo the arches of the bridge. A natural vignette is added by the darker areas of the sky, and the shaded area to the right of the bridge. An ND filter created a long exposure, perfect for removing unwanted boats and people that were passing by

Chris started building a powerful portfolio of landscape photography back in 2005. Based at his gallery in York, U.K. he runs landscape photography workshops and courses in the U.K and in Europe and is a regular speaker at photographic societies in the north of England.
