Lydia Ho is a self-taught Malaysian photographer. She had always been fascinated by the magic created by a camera, taking pictures of family and friends with compact camera when she was young. This on-going fascination has evolved into a passion that she is joyfully pursuing now. Lydia quickly discovered a real interest for portraits and street photography, making her picked up her first DSLR camera in 2013. She followed websites and scoured photography magazines to sharpen her skills. Her diligence and hard work has resulted in her photographs published and featured in newspapers and magazines. She has also participated in joint photo exhibition with fellow photographers. In May 2017, she had her maiden solo exhibition “Urban Rhapsody –The Japan Series” in collaboration with Leica Camera Malaysia, Epson and Isetan The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur.
A frequent traveller, the cities are Lydia's playground. The structure of an amazing building, reflections on the glass panels and the colourful people who inhabit them are the creative expressions that intrigue. Quiet, silent, fleeting moments in a fast-paced world are the gems that Lydia seeks and captures in her photographs, preserved for all time-for these tell a thousand stories waiting to be shared with the world.
