Midnight Meringue

I camped out overnight on a small island in the Antarctic Peninsula. There was only a small window of opportunity to capture sunset at around midnight with sunrise happening a couple of hours later. Usually the light is bright and blue in Antarctica so I had to wait patiently for the right moment when subtle pink and yellow hues were added and reflected off the ice. I used a long exposure to accentuate
the stillness and the serenity of the place. The sculptural form of the ice reminded me of meringues. I could almost imagine eating them.
