Amazone

In the Romantic Era, many painters travelled to the mystical wilderness of the Amazone rainforst. They described it as paradise on earth, where Oneness with nature could be experienced.
Presently this paradise is under attack. Food-companies divide the forest in agricultural plots, illegal gold-diggers scar the landscape.
Using 24 k. gold-leaf with a reference to the Japanese “Kintsugi” technique (the art of fixing broken pottery with gold) and borrowing the imagery from the Romantics, I try to return the stolen gold, to heal the brokenness and to restore the Oneness to the forest.
