I was able to follow part of Damel’s journey as she trained with her father to become an eagle huntress. During my second winter migration in Northwestern Mongolia, I spent time with Damel and her family after traveling over 100 miles across the Altai Mountains in Winter. It was here I watched Damel learn how to call the eagle, feed, and care for it. This particular afternoon we watched as Damel worked with her father in all aspects of eagle training.
