Politicians of some countries, including the US, have recently pursued race-based politics. Singapore, when it was part of Malaysia, saw a bloody racial riot in 1964. But when it became an independent country in 1965, it was enshrined in our Constitution that regardless of race, language or religion, the people will stay united to achieve happiness , prosperity and progress for all. Singapore is a diverse country comprising Malays, Chinese and Indians, and practicing the major religions in the world. Jimmy Lam studied at the International Center of Photography. He specialised in documenting the cultural and social aspect of Asia. He travels throughout Asia to preserve its people and culture through photography.
