Several armed groups in the Central African Republic (CAR) are, throughout the nearly five years of conflict, using sexual violence and slavery as war tactics.
The commanders of these groups have “tolerated” their soldiers' actions, in which case the leaders themselves are ordaining it.
More seriously, there are reports that it is the commanders themselves who commit such acts in the Central African Republic.
Unfortunately many of these women are teenagers and children. Some get pregnant, end up having an abortion or have premature babies.
