Shape of Thing is my ongoing photographic series. Examining the shape and graphic elements of my surroundings, showing how light and shadow visually define an object. This one is an architectural shot of the Mann Island and Mersey Travel buildings in Liverpool. I was photographing this building for most of the day but it wasn't until I moved further away that I came across this angle.
I have been making images for over thirty years but it wasn't until about four years ago after people started telling me I needed a website I made the decision to start swimstones.
After about twenty plus awards from honourable mentions, exhibitions to winning The British Life Photography Awards and being shortlisted two years running for The British Photographer Of The Year Awards I have been stunned by the response.
I am called swimstones after a swim I do out to sea to a small cove and swim back with a pebble that I put a number on just to remember how many times I have made the swim.
