"The Golden Age of Hollywood" for The American Film Market Fifth Anniversary poster.
I was to create an image that would represent Hollywood movies and I immediately thought about Technicolor which was first used in "The Wizard of Oz" and I wanted to create a colour palette that was close to Technicolor. I experimented with different photo lamps and different colour films, combining Tungsten with Mercury vapours and strobe lights...it was a mixed salad. My studio was so small that the model's feet touch the wall in front of her! She's sitting on a sea of turquoise mylar..but it all worked!
French born, raised in NY & CA, worked in advertising as art director, then as commercial, freelance photographer. Currently living/working in FineArts in New Zealand. Winner of multiple prestigious awards including a Lucie Award from the International Photo Society, NY, and Distinction Honours from the Royal Photographic Society, UK. Won a Prix d'Or for Best Children's Book Cover from Paris Photo. Have had several gallery exhibitions in US, New Zealand, and Tokyo.
