Atlantic Spotted Dolphin Pair

Observed in the clear, shallow waters of the Bahamas, the Atlantic spotted dolphin is said to be an intermediate in appearance between the bottlenose dolphin and the pantropical spotted dolphin. These dolphins have become so habituated to human contact, that they do not shy away from swimmers. In this photo, a pair of Atlantic spotted dolphins cruised by diagonally against the wavy grain of the sandy bottom.
