Mother and Son Tunnel

The Taiwanese Mother and Son Double-track Railway Tunnels were built in 1928 by the colonial-era Japanese government.
Two long and short tunnels are 50 meters apart. The long tunnel is about 130.78 meters long and the short tunnel is about 67.48 meters long. It is therefore called the mother and son tunnel.
The peculiar landscape in which the two double-track railway tunnels of the Zimu Tunnel are closely connected is rare in the world. The brick walls recommended by Japan are exquisite, durable and beautiful.
