The Arctic is changing faster than anywhere on the planet, warming rapidly due to climate change. The "new Arctic" holds both challenges and opportunities for its residents. The Bernlows are examples: they moved their family of six to a house at the very end of the road at the world’s northernmost (and fastest warming) town, Longyearbyen, on the remote island of Svalbard. They came to take advantage of the growing tourism opportunities, but with less snow each year they often have to run their dog sleds through the mud. Together they are raising a family on a wild and rapidly warming frontier.
