Lost Freedom

I dedicate this image to all the girls and woman that have suffered physical, sexual and emotional trauma. The consequences of which are beyond imaginable. Lost innocence, freedom and ability to face the world directly are only scratching the surface. In this day and age, we women still have to fight for our rights and our bodies all around the world. The children in this portrait represent the lost freedom to be once own self, confident and strong. They represent women of all ages.

Samira Sabulis is of mixed Eastern European and Balkan descent. She spent her childhood in Poland and Bulgaria and began an early career in dance and modeling.
Samira has been painting since her childhood, and her work is highly inspired by the symbolism movement, Italian Renaissance and The Golden Age.The above influences, combined with Samira’s own travels, life experiences and creative soul have given her work a unique and distinguished edge.
