Misty Dawn, Kilchurn Castle

A wet and misty morning on the banks of Loch Awe in the Scottish Highlands. This was made just before dawn, the aperture of f11 gave a 2 second exposure, just enough to suggest movement in the mist that was rolling over the hills that surround the castle. Foreground rocks lead the eye past the reed bed.Made in the 'blue hour' period the image has a UV cast that adds to the drama.

Chris started building a powerful portfolio of landscape photography back in 2005. Based at his gallery in York, U.K. he runs landscape photography workshops and courses in the U.K and in Europe and is a regular speaker at photographic societies and events across Great Britain.
