Makers of Melton

The Makers of Melton is a seasonal portrait series, shot in the
run-up to Christmas 2016, celebrating some of the diversity of
independent makers and producers in the Melton area of
Leicestershire, UK.

Melton Mowbray has a rich food production heritage, it is
recognised as the Rural Capital for Food in the UK and with a
range of businesses represented, this personal series sought to
highlight and celebrate some of the variety that now exists in
the area.

The portraits showcase silversmiths, bakers, personalised
giftware makers, florists, cheese makers and butchers. Some
businesses have recently started whilst others are in their 3rd
generation but what links them together is a shared
commitment to craftsmanship and a specialist approach to their
work. Something that has been recognised by the range of
awards some of the businesses have received.
