In Senegal, the "Lac Rose" is a place for tourism. The lake has a
vibrant pink color due to its high salt content. This salt is
"harvested" by men and women who sell it to make a living. The
harassing work is most often the only source of income of these
young men and women who decided to stay in their home country
instead of risking their life in the sea to join illegally Europe. You
can feel fatigue in any single breathe they they throw, but also
pride in their eyes. For those who don't have the strength for the
work or money to get a canoe, selling little things to tourists is an
option.
